You must read and abide by these rules if you wish to post in the classifieds section here on Midwest Car Audio. Please take a few minutes and read through them thoroughly.
1. POSTING ETIQUETTE IN THE CLASSIFIEDS SECTION.
There is a huge tendency to post negative replies when someone lists an item for sale that others consider "overpriced". Negative comments will not be tolerated and will be removed at the discretion of site staff. To put it simply - If you don’t have anything good to say, keep it to yourself. Please note that members who make negative replies will be warned and possibly banned for continued abuse!
2. VENDORS (OR PEOPLE SELLING QUANTITIES OF THE SAME ITEM) MUST FIRST CONTACT FORUM ADMINISTRATION.
Please contact the forum Administrators or Moderators to get information on becoming a Vendor or Site Supporter before posting items for sale. Buying for the sole purpose of re-selling (re: “flipping”) qualifies as being a vendor and requires sponsorship.
3. THERE WILL BE NO "AUCTION STYLE" SELLING HERE, YOU MUST POST A PRICE!
If you post an item for sale and it says anything like "I will take the highest offer" it will be removed. You MUST post a price you will accept. If you’re open to negotiations or trades please mark your posts with “trades accepted” or “or best offer” (OBO) after the listed price.
4. ADD DETAILS TO YOUR FOR SALE THREADS – INCLUDING PRICE AND PICTURES, PICTURES MUST BE SUPPLIED WITH USERS NAME AND DATE (UNLESS YOU HAVE 5 POSITIVE FEEDBACK AS A SELLER AND/OR TRADER, THEN PICTURES WITH USER NAME AND DATE ARE NOT REQUIRED, BUT PICTURES STILL MUST BE POSTED!)
Please take your time and add as much detail as possible. Describe your item in the title, the more details the better. Post an asking price and make it easy to find, not just lost in the paragraph of description. Each item should have its own asking price, and then you can negotiate from there. Again, no “make me an offer” threads, these will be removed. The more details you can give the better chance you will have of selling... i.e. color, size, year, make, model, mileage, damage, etc., etc. If you really want to sell your items... please post up the most current pictures possible! Your potential buyers will not want to buy your items if they cannot see them. Please make sure to take pictures from every possible angle. There is no such thing as too many pictures! Again, your potential buyers want to see what you are selling.
5. OMISSION OF INFORMATION IS ALSO KNOWN AS FRAUD.
For example: If you are selling a sub that has a cracked cone you need to disclose that information to the buyer. Do not tell the buyer that the sub is in “good” or even “fair” condition. If it’s determined that you have defrauded a fellow member by failing to disclose crucial facts about your item(s), or simply lying, you will be blacklisted from the classifieds and potentially banned from the forums.
6. USE THE CLASSIFIEDS SECTION AT YOUR OWN RISK.
There are a lot of scams out there on the internet so take precautions in your business ventures. Midwest Car Audio WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSSES AS A RESULT OF USING THE CLASSIFIEDS SECTION.
7. RESPECT FELLOW MEMBERS.
This section is a great place to make a few extra bucks and occasionally new friends. Please be respectful to your fellow members. Maybe try selling here to a member instead of eBay, maybe save them a buck or two. If you have any questions, problems or concerns feel free to contact any of the site moderators.
8. PLEASE GO BACK AND REPORT YOUR POST WHEN THE ITEM SELLS AND MARK AS SOLD!
Last, but certainly not least! Nobody likes getting their hopes up when they see an item(s) for a great price, contact the seller or bump the for sale thread, just to be let down that it’s sold months prior. On the other side of the coin, sellers don’t like getting bothered with e-mails, PM’s, or phone calls when their item(s) are already sold!
9. PLEASE DO NOT POST IN THE CLASSIFIEDS SECTION UNLESS YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BUYING THE ITEM! ONE BUMP PER 6 HOURS!
No free posts in the classifieds section, we are trying to keep them as clean as possible. Do not post make unnecessary posts unless you are interested in buying the item. Also to cut down on bumping please do not bump your threads more then once every 6 hours!
Finally, don't forget to leave feedback for the seller/buyer/trader you dealt with. Simply go to that users profile, click the last tab which says "Feedback Score", then click "View Complete Feedbacks for (user name of the person you dealt with)", then finally click "Submit Feedback For (user name of the person you dealt with)" and fill out the required information.
Tips to a successful classifieds post:
1. Put "FS:" in the title of For Sale items, put "WTB:" for items you Want To Buy and put "WTT:" for items you Want To Trade.
2. List shipping options and prices, pick-up or delivery options for the buyer.
3. Sellers should always use delivery tracking options (for example: USPS Delivery Confirmation) to avoid conflicts from buyers saying they never received their items.
4. Be sure to add "SOLD" once the items are sold, also remember to report the thread clicking the in the top right of the OP. |
